In 1923 the modern republic of Turkey was established at the treaty of Lausaugne, a forced population exchange followed where the Christian people of Levisi (Kaya Koy) were sent to the port of Fethiye to board ships to carry the homeless across to Greece...
Today the valley is protected; mass tourism has not been allowed to poison the picturesque setting, making it an idyllic location for nature lovers and walkers. The surrounding coastline backs onto forest clad mountains with ancient paths and mule trails ripe for exploration...
Accommodation:
All day activities are being organized from Kayakoy. You stay in a boutique hotel with spacious garden area, swimmingpool, indoor restaurant and evening social area with fire place. Prices are based on bed/breakfast and lunch, evening meals can be arranged as a group at different restaurants if desired. In Dalyan you'll stay one night in a luxury hotel by the banks of the river in Dalyan.

Walking:
The terrain of Western Lycia is rugged and hard underfoot so walking boots or strong shoes with good ankle support are essential. Day rucksack (25-40 litre), full waterproofs, fleece top, walking poles, sun protection. Warm hat for mountain…
Weather:
Programme is flexible according to weather conditions, April can be sunny, but also cool and stormy. Night time temps are cool so bring plenty of warm clothing.

Walk Kaya Koy valley, Af Kule monastery, Hac Beli Church,

Walk Faralya, Kirme, Kozagac, Ovacik, Oludeniz, Kayakoy,

Transfer to Arsakoy, descend the slopes of Akdag to the Xanthos
valley and scramble up the Saklikent canyon. In the late afternoon
we explore the ruins of Tlos with the tomb of Bellerophon,

Transfer to Faralya, walk the Lycian Way via Kabak to the mountain
top village of Alinca, descend the Kabak valley (waterfall) to Kabak-beach
